Our Beers

The world’s first golden beer was brewed on 5th October 1842 and when first sampled, five weeks later, it was found to be fresh, clear and refreshing with a hint of caramel sweetness and a fragrant, balanced hop bitterness. And it still is.

A quintessentially English beer, with its rich aroma and a long, deep, bitter-sweet finish, Gem is brewed with skill and passion using Maris Otter barley and Goldings hops from Kent. It won a Gold Medal in the 2014 International Beer Challenge.

Highly recommended as an accompaniment to spicy food, Harviestoun Schiehallion, is a premium lager from Alva, in Central Scotland which, as any fool knows, is the naturalised home of lager, lager, lager.

Brewed since the 1950s, with its well-rounded flavour and rich history, marked by the beat of Cockney feet, London Pride has been handed down to us. London Pride means our own dear town to us and our pride it forever will be.

Sweet, but not too sweet; incredibly refreshing and deceptively strong, Bee Sting is a lightly sparkling perry that has cult status among its West Country devotees who love its wonderful aroma of pears and subtle fruity flavours.

Brewed with Fresh Oysters that are shucked right into The Conditioning Tank, Oyster is lighter in taste and colour than many stouts; but still packs a punch in terms of flavour. A perfect pairing to seafood, the gentle roast flavour and aromatic character of the East Kent goldings makes this a particular favourite
