Duck and Rice
The Duck and Rice opened its doors to Berwick Street in 2015 by world-renowned restaurateur, Alan Yau. Alan has founded many formidable restaurants including Park Chinois, Wagamama, Busabai Eathai, and won the first Michelin star for a Chinese restaurant outside of China with Hakkasan.

Chinese food in Soho
For years Alan would go to work at Yauatcha, located on the corner of Berwick Street, and look at the site next door, a longstanding Soho boozer called The Endurance. It was a legendary venue, home to locals, thespians, gangsters, extroverts and drag queens.

An eclectic Soho pub and Chinese restaurant
He saw it as the perfect opportunity to combine both parts of his family heritage, Chinese food and English tradition. At the heart of his aspiration was to hold onto the vibrance and spirit that carried the site through the decades - and thus The Duck and Rice was born.

Pub lunch in Soho
For lunchtime, we took inspiration from the traditional British pub lunch menu, and reworked our most popular dishes into single plates. The perfect temptation for those craving real satisfaction on a tight schedule.

Drag Queen Cabaret Quiz Night
There is something for everyone on this special night. Drag is to Soho, what ballet is to Moscow, fashion is to Paris, techno is to Berlin. So it goes without saying we put on a fabulous Drag Queen Cabaret Quiz Night, hosted by the one-and-only Cookie MonStar.
